CONCEPT
- It's a little like the "City Chase" with a Lanark County twist. In family teams of two or more (with at least one adult) or teams of two adults (18 and over), you will be challenged to follow clues that will take you to some interesting sites around town where you will pick up more clues to solve the riddle. Clear as mud?

- Have some fun
- Encourage youth to learn more about the Town of Perth
- Challenge your skill and knowledge
- Raise awareness of Hospice and maybe some funding
- Celebrate the Stewart Park Festival
- Give away some prizes

RULES OF ENGAGEMENT
- Kit pick up is at 9:30 - 10:15 am, July 19th, 2014, at Big Ben Statue in Code's Park, corner of Wilson and Herriott Streets, Perth (map).
- Start at 10:30am, July 19, at the Big Ben Statue.
- With the exception of strollers and medically required assisted devices, this is a walking event. Only exception is the bus ride from Last Duel Park to Train and Transform gym.
- Note the starting location is also your final return point.
- The same official start time of 10:30 will be applied to ALL teams, regardless of the time you leave the start point. The start time will be adjusted by officials if necessary in the event of a delayed start.
- Upon check- in, you will receive a scroll,You may NOT, shall NOT, will NOT open your scrolls until the official start signal is given. Failure to comply will mean a 15 minute penalty to your team score.
- You may proceed to any checkpoint you choose to begin , and move on from there. There is NO official sequence.
- There is a total of 15 possible checkpoints to collect important clues!
- Every team must attend the 9 mandatory checkpoints.
- Every participant team must attend at least 1 of the optional checkpoints.
- Each checkpoint is attended by a Challenge Volunteer recognizable by their Perth Festival Challenge shirt or other equally apparent identifier. Your attendance and participation in each of the nine (9) mandatory checkpoints and the one (1) optional checkpoint must be validated by the attendant officiating at the respective checkpoints. Failure to obtain validation means the team must return to the applicable checkpoint to obtain the validation, and only if time permits. If time does not permit, the Teams’ challenge is deemed incomplete.
- The winning teams for each category will be determined by the officials using the following criteria: successful comnpletion of nine mandatory and one optional checkpoint; b. correct answer to final question; and total time for a and b.
- Once you complete the required checkpoints and have receive all mandatory stamps you can return to the check-in location. There you must report to a Challenge Official who will verify that all mandatory stamps are documented. If acceptable you will receive the Final Challenge Answer Form.
- Once you have completed your Final Challenge Answer Form, insert it and the Challenge Official Clues Sheet in the Official Team Challenge envelope. Your official finish time will be marked on the envelope by the Challenge Official who collects your Team envelope.
- Rulings by the organizing officials are final.
- You may ask questions to anyone you wish to help you with clues.
- Care must be taken at all times to respect all establishments involved in the challenge.
- Safety – all participants must be vigilant of obstacles, hazards and the large traffic volumes during the Stewart Park Festival.
- The event total allowable time is no more than 120 minutes (2 hours) from the start of 10:30.
